Fail or Holy Grail Review: Fails of 2016

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about my Fails of 2016! This is a post where I'm going to talk about how I feel about some of the Fails of the year, and I'm also going to be talking about my Holy Grails next week too!
What I Love
- Smells amazing

What I Don't Love
- Expensive at $50NZD
- Contains a TON of fragrance
- Makes make up hard to adhere

I don't have this product any more because I was able to give it away, but I just really didn't like the way it sat on my skin, and how much it cost for an ingredient list that didn't have anything beneficial for my skin other than a lot of silicone and fragrance.

Tonymoly Tomatox Magic White Massage Pack
What I Love
- It does have pretty cute packaging
- Easy to apply

What I Don't Love
- Stings my skin
- Lemon essence can cause photosensitivity
- Doesn't wash off properly which causes the white cast
- Doesn't have any added skincare benefits for my skin

I don't have anymore of these samples, and I also had a lot of feedback that others didn't like this product also, so it's nice to know that I'm not alone!

Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Recovery Gel Cream
What I Love
- Cute packaging
- Great summer moisturiser

What I Don't Love
- Breaks my skin out badly
- I don't actually have any other use for it

I tried to use this cream as a body moisturiser, but it was too lightweight for my body! I didn't really have much success with this Cream at all, and ended up giving it away.

Cellabon RX Naturatox 3 in 1 UV Essence Sunblock + Essence + Make Up Base
What I Love
- Great price at $23USD
- Gives my skin an overall glow

What I Don't Love
- Very intense brightening effect that emphasises flaws
- Makes pores appear HUGE
- I don't feel any skincare benefits

This sunscreen was awful on my face since it made my pores appear gigantic, but it's actually a rather nice body sunscreen because the shimmer makes my arms and legs look really pretty. It's not something I would repurchase since it would be a very, very expensive body sunscreen, and I almost used it up in a week on my body.

Acuvue 1 Day Define Natural Shine
What I Love
- Very natural enlarging
- Great colour for brown eyes
- Super duper comfortable
- Great oxygen permeability

What I Don't Love
- Only produced in an 8.5 base curve??
- Slips around my eyes
- Hard to see through because of movement
- Makes me anxious that I will loose them in my eyeballs

I don't understand why Acuvue doesn't create these lenses in a base curve other than 8.5mm. Sadly these don't fit my eyes well and they moved around which can cause abrasion to the eye (which is not a good thing). I ended up using all of the lenses for filming, which meant that I only had them in my eyes for a couple of hours, but I wouldn't purchase them again.

Skinfood Avocado Leave In Fluid
What I Love
- Inexpensive at around $5-10USD

What I Don't Love
- Makes very little difference to my hair
- Makes it slightly drier if anything
- I need to use a LOT

This leave in fluid didn't do anything for my hair, so it ended up in the give away pile.

Skinfood Grape Seed Oil Wrinkle Neck Cream
What I Love
- Cute packaging
- Fun to use
- Smells lovely
- Feels lovely

What I Don't Love
- It doesn't actually do anything for my neck

This cream didn't do anything for my neck, but it worked really well as a moisturiser for my dry legs!

Skinfood Nail Vita Pineapple Cuticle Cleaner
 What I Love
- Cute packaging

What I Don't Love
- It doesn't moisturise, or soften cuticles

This was such a fail for me, and there isn't anything else I could really repurpose it as, so it did end up being given away. It just didn't do anything for my nails!

Tony Moly Super Peeling Liquid Shiny Foot and Holika Holika Baby Silky Foot Sheet Mask

What I Love
- Fun to use

What I Don't Love
- Only peeled a thin layer of skin off my feet and only in certain areas
- My feet actually look worse after 3 weeks
- My feet were not baby soft for more than 2 hours

This foot peel was a flop for me, it only peeled off the teeniest bit of skin and my feet ended up feeling worse than before. Ick.

Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence

What I Love
- Quick and easy to apply
- Functional packaging
- Lightly hydrating

What I Don't Love
- No brightening or glowing, which is why I bought it

I think this product was disappointing because so many people had great results, but there were so many others out there that like me didn't have amazing results. This was another product that ended up being given away.

Missha Line Friends Mild Sun
What I Love
- Cute packaging

What I Don't Love
- Horrific white cast
- Very difficult to apply
- Impossible to apply make up over
- Leaves white streaks everywhere

I actually really hated this sunscreen, it's just too difficult to apply accurately and since it's protecting my skin from being burnt I just think there are so many other products out there that are much better.

I hope you Princesses enjoyed my year of Fails in one post! ^ ^

  1. Fails are always disappointing aren't they, especially when you have to take the time to buy them online and wait for them to arrive. I'm glad none of these products gave you terrible reactions - my fail of the year was a pink clay 'sensitive skin' mask that burned the living daylights out of my test patch on my arm! So much for being made for sensitive skin. :P
